Summer solstice today. For some reason it's actually midsummer in a couple of day's time and I've never worked out why there is the difference.

in sweden midsummer is always on the friday closest to the solstice! traditionally midsummer has been celebrated anytime in the week before and after the solstice

I did some poking around and apprently it's something to do with St John's day on the 24th.
