when i said "i feel sorry for people who cant imagine a meaningful life without employment and academia" i didnt mean it as "i dont understand why people do those things" i OBIVOUSLY meant that i feel sorry for people who are like "???? but what do you do all day???? dont you want to do something meaningful with your life????" when i tell them i dont work or study cos my man makes enough money for us both.

No literally those people are so weird. Its like meaning outside of socially prescribed meaning just doesn’t exist to them! If I had the choice I would do volunteer work everyday instead of school and work yk. Get more locally involved. Support my family more. These ppl live in isolated bubbles where they are either bound to a school environment where nothing they do means much unless they’re doing like grad school and have time for independent projects that impact the world. Or just their work enviro, which I mean depending on what they do could be very meaningful and impactful to their local or general society. Sorry i wrote a paragraph lol! Its just strange that no school/legal job = not participating in life or society to like a very large group of ppl.

yeah makes sense! they judge you and u have the right to judge them back. also they shouldn't judge u for not working it's not like we all need to live the same identical way and get employed the moment we are grown or graduate or smth... especially since u have a family! i truly believe that especially knowing from my own experience how not working feels, like we are still people and part of our society...
