i feel sorry for people who cant imagine a meaningful life without employment and academia

For me, it's less "It's not meaningful without employment" and more "You better have a job or you're going to be on the street." Kinda feel like my life is less meaningful for it, actually. I'd rather make my living writing, doing something I love.

I had a full life's worth of employment up to 60 but retiring doesn't mean I'm suddenly bored and having nothing to do- quite the opposite!

Yet I was told no one would want to employ a trans woman! Wrong!
